Squadron Open House

Gainesville Composite Squadron will be hosting an open house on 31 May 2012. Stop by and see what Civil Air Patrol is all about. Friends and family are welcome. Refreshments will be provided.

As a Cadet member in CAP, one has the opportunity to
  • Take the controls of a Cessna 172 plane and learn about about aeronautics. Some of our cadet members have flown solo and continued on to gain their private pilot license.
  • Learn leadership and teamwork skills
  • Attend special events, including encampments and training opportunities
  • Compete with other cadets from around the state, region, and country
  • Participate in drill and color guard
  • Have fun and make new friends
Senior members get the opportunity to
  • Get checked out in CAP aircraft and can build time performing missions, proficiency flights, and more.
  • Volunteer in air crew and ground crew teams
  • Assist the squadron in achieving its core missions, including aerospace education, cadet programs, and emergency services
