Florida Emergency Services Academy 26 Dec 17 - 2 Jan 18

The annual Florida Emergency Services Academy (FLESA) will be held 26 Dec 17 to 2 Jan 18 at Avon Park Air Force Range.  Deadline for applying is 1 Nov 17 and payment must be in by 15 Nov 17.  Anyone wanting to be an instructor must send an e-mail to Lt Col Willard Garman (wgarman@flwg.gov) by 25 Oct 17 with name, capid, and what they want to teach/evaluate. There will be three areas of training:

 AIR

  • Mission Scanner
  • Mission Observer
  • Airborne Photographer
  • Search and Rescue/Disaster Relief Mission Pilot

 GROUND

  • Basic (Urban Direction Finder and Ground Team Member 3)
  • Advanced (Ground Team Member 1 & 2)
  • Ground Team Leader

 MISSION BASE (covers any of following depending on specialties everyone signs up for)

  • Communications Unit Leader
  • Air Operations Branch Director
  • Ground Branch Director
  • Finance/Admin Section Chief
  • Logistics Section Chief
  • Planning Section Chief
  • Operations Section Chief
  • Incident Commander 3
  • Mission Staff Assistance
  • Mission Radio Operator
